On December 18th we celebrated Karsten turning three months.
On December 19th we celebrated what would have been Karsten's due date.
Our family was very excited to celebrate Karsten's due date. We went to his Grad Clinic appointment at the NICU that morning. The Grad Clinic is with his NICU doctors and they check to make sure he is hitting the milestones that he is supposed to. Since Karsten was three months early he won't be hitting the same milestones as a typical three month old. His doctors said that it's as if he was born on December 19th, so technically he is only a few weeks old according to his corrected age. They say he will be three months behind for a little while, but at some point he will catch up. We got him all dressed up to see his friends at the NICU. They were so excited to see him and we were so excited to see them!
It's amazing to watch him and see the progress that he is making everyday. He is eating like crazy and getting chunky, kissable cheeks! He loves to hold up his neck and especially loves tummy time, but he prefers laying on your chest to do his tummy time instead of the mat.
He is starting to stay awake for longer periods of time and loves opening up those bright eyes. He loves to snuggle and hates to be put down. I am soaking up all of the snuggling because I know one day he will be too busy to snuggle. He loves music and especially loves when you sing and dance with him.
We are loving our three month old baby boy more than we ever thought we could love anyone.
He is our world and we couldn't be happier that we are his.
