Merry Christmas from this Conradi Crew to you!
Karsten's first Christmas was such a dream. Ryan and I decided to spend Christmas Eve with just our little family. We spent the night listening to Christmas music, watching Christmas movies, snuggling by the fire, and just enjoying our time with our little sweetheart. Even though Karsten is too small to really enjoy any of the Christmas festivities it was still so much more magical with him here. One of our favorite traditions is the matching pajamas that we wear on Christmas Eve and we even include the pups.
We gave Karsten his "First Christmas" ornament and hung that on the tree. We chose a cute blue elephant and we also made another ornament with his footprints and a few things from the NICU.
On Christmas morning I remember waking up to Karsten and as I laid there with my two boys I realized just how blessed and lucky I truly am. I was so grateful that we had made it to Christmas morning and that our sweet boy was with us at home, safe and sound. I thought about our Savior and how his mother Mary must have felt that morning.
I felt like my heart could burst at any moment. I will forever be thankful.
Christmas just wouldn't have been complete without a picture with Santa. Since Karsten was too small to leave the house we ended up having a little "Santa" photoshoot at home. We couldn't pass up the chance of getting the traditional crying Santa photo.
Christmas was absolutely magical and Karsten was the reason for that. He will always be our favorite gift and we will forever remember his first Christmas.
