I got the call around 10:45am.
Ryan was supposed to be on his way to work and it wasn't out of the ordinary that he would call on his drive to chat, it helped the drive go by quickly.
But this call was different, he was in a bit of a panic and shock. He told me he had just been in an accident and he couldn't explain what happened. He said the steering wheel went crazy and he couldn't control the car. He was heading South towards St. George and his car had spun around heading North and slammed into the cable on the side of the road.
I jumped into my car.
And hurried as fast as I could to find him.
As I got to the scene I saw orange cones blocking off the left lane, lights flashing and my husband standing on the side of the road. His car was in pieces all around the road. His precious car.
The police told us that they put that cable in recently due to fatal accidents happening on the highway. I am so thankful they put that cable in! I am so thankful that Ryan is okay!
We can't say the same for the car... it's a goner. But it did it's job and kept my Ryan safe. That's all the matters.
Things can be replaced, but Ryan cant.
We spent the rest of the day together just enjoying our time. We stayed up later, got hot cocoa, and ended up in a field where we sat and talked until it was pitch black out.
I definitely snuggled Ryan tighter last night.
I sure do love him.
XO
