Well here we are 2014. We welcomed you in with a kiss & a cheer!
I love when the New Year rolls around. It gives us time to reflect on the past year and decided where we want to change or what we want to do differently. Each new years eve we sit down and write down our upcoming goals and our past memories. It's really fun to sit and read each others because a lot of things that mattered to me didn't quite make Conradi's list and vice versa. My mom raised us to always set goals and always update our dream book. Conradi and I made a dream book a little while back, and it's just fun to see which dreams truly do come true with time and effort.
Conradi and I have a binder. Yes a binder. We keep our goals of the year in there and our plan of how we are going to achieve them. We put in our weekly meal plan, cleaning list, our budget, bill dates, etc. We go through our binder each Sunday so that we can fill in our weekly duties. If you know me well, you totally get this and you're probably feeling bad for Conradi right about now, but he is a good team player.
Our goals are set and we are pretty excited about them. This year we decided to have five categories: Family, Health, Finances, Self, Career
Here is just a snapshot of the goals we chose.
(L-Me C-Husband)
Family: (L) Become more organized (C) Laugh more with my wife
Health: (L) Eat healthy & clean (C) Lose weight & gain muscle
Finances: (L) Save! Save! Save! (C) Not buy wants, only needs
Self: (L) Read the book of mormon (C) Take dogs on more walks
Career: (L) Conduct a research study on social skills (C) Finish school year with all A's and B's
We are excited to see how many of these goals we reach. We know that with time, effort and support from each other we can accomplish each and every one. We have noticed that by setting individual goals and goals together we have grown much closer. We help each other out in each area because it's really not just about one of us reaching our goals, it's about both of us reaching our goals and strengthening each other.
We don't know exactly what the future brings. But we are pretty excited about it.
Happy New Year to all of our family & friends!
