And So the Story Begins...

My husband Ryan and I have been married for five years. We have always had a "five year plan" and having a baby was right there on year five. We had just moved down to St. George, UT where we bought our first home and adopted two dogs. We were settled and felt like having a baby was the perfect next step.

We had been trying for a few months, but we had no luck.  We didn't think too much of it, but we decided to go and talk to a specialist. They did some tests and found that I had a heart shaped uterus. This doesn't usually cause too many problems, but for me it was causing some issues that would stand in our way. They told us that we wouldn't be able to get pregnant on our own and we would need to use some intense medical treatments. This hit me like a ton of bricks, I wasn't expecting to ever hear anything like that. That was not part of our plan.

We decided to get a second opinion which led to many of the same results. They both gave us options, but we decided to hold off until summer because we just wanted time to think and pray about what was right for us. We weighed out our options for many weeks and months. We looked at adoption costs vs. medical costs, which both looked very expensive. We decided to stop stressing about everything and we started trusting that everything would work out the way it was supposed to and that we would know the right decision to make.

A few months later we received the most amazing news. We were pregnant!!!! We didn't need the medicine after all. The doctors were amazed and so were we. We were beyond excited and we couldn't wait to begin our new chapter with our Baby Conradi!
