Dear Karsten

September 19, 2014 4:25am

My Sweet Karsten,

As I lay here I can't help but have a heart full of gratitude my sweet boy. You came earlier than we had expected, but the miracles were there and your Heavenly Father watched and continues to watch over you. You weigh only 2.3 pounds, which your Daddy thinks is pretty cool because it matches the famous Michael Jordan. He thinks you will play basketball just like he did. I say you get to pick whatever you want and your Daddy and I will always be there to cheer you on.

I have so many emotions running through my mind during this quiet and sleepless night. I have yet to meet you my darling boy, but I know you already. You and I were able to be little buddies for the past 26 weeks. I got you all to myself. You listened to my heartbeat, you sent me love taps throughout my busy days, you listened to my voice as I sang little lullabies and while Daddy read you bedtime stories. I know you, Karsten, and I couldn't love you more than I do now.

You are a fighter and a survivor. Our Heavenly Father has sent you here for a reason. You have a purpose here on this earth life that is bigger than we could imagine. You will grow to do great things. Your name means "Follower of Christ" in German. I hope you will stand strong and hold that meaning close to your heart. Be proud of it and be proud of where it comes from.

You my boy, are now the center of my world and your Daddy's world. We have waited many years to have you and to become parents. You will be the first to call me "Mommy" and I am more than ready to take on this new role as a mother with you. You have a very large piece of my heart my darling boy. I will cherish you and protect you. I will love you unconditionally with my whole heart. I will be strong for you and be an example of faith and love for you.

I have found a new love for you my darling. A love that is hard to explain, yet so easy to feel. A love that runs deep and will never fade. Thank you for choosing me and your Daddy. We are honored and blessed to be your parents. We are here to encourage you and love you as we raise you in this earth life.

Try new things my boy, be adventurous and courageous. Be loving and be kind. Be outgoing and be humble. Be true and be honest in all you do. Be a gentleman and a worthy priesthood holder just like Daddy. Be you Karsten James Scott Conradi and the world will love you just as I do now.

I love you my sweet Karsten.
Always and Forever,
Your Mommy
